"The Institute for Spiritual Development is a unique place of worship. The church tends to draw people who have an eclectic view of traditional religious principles. People that attend and worship at ISD-Sparta are generally warm, inviting, and open. I felt at ease here from the very first time I attended church 30 years ago. Although I have moved away over the subsequent years, I always attend church services when visiting friends and family in the local area. The church is not large by traditional standards, holding perhaps up to 75 attendees. Services run between 1 and 1 ½ hours in length. Should you be unable to attend Sunday service, you can watch services streamed live on their Facebook page. Services have healing, singing, and meditation portion and messages from the spirit. The sermon, given by the ministers, is well presented and drawn from everyday life experiences. After service, you may avail yourself of the opportunity to meet fellow worshipers, staff, and ministers for coffee and light refreshments. The church has a little shop where you can purchase books and other eclectic items. Should you have any additional interest in church activities, they offer a varied calendar of classes and activities that you may participate. If you are in the area, do take the opportunity to attend church service at ISD-Sparta. Like myself, you will be happy you visited."

"This is a wonderful community of spiritually-based folks honoring the personal connection with the Divine. The individual journey being key, there are over eight Reverends who rotate sharing different perspectives on the potential journey. Each Sunday service provides a hands-on-healing portion, a homily, nine gallery-styled individual audience readings, and a meditation. The minute I found the courage to walk through the doors after 15 years of feeling I should but being afraid to, I cried non-stop...because I knew I had found my spiritual home."
