Goat Hill Overlook
Goat Hill Overlook is a popular landmark and park located in Lambertville, New Jersey. The institution offers a short but rewarding walk with a nice payoff of beautiful views overlooking the Delaware River to Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, Pennsylvania. The full loop hike offers additional overlooks and a more secluded experience away from the crowds. Visitors can enjoy picnicking at the two picnic tables at the main overlook. The trail is easy, with a gravel path that is somewhat uphill to the main overlook, and a longer route that includes light rocks. The institution is part of Washington Crossing State Park, but is not mentioned on the park's page. For history buffs, there is detailed information available on the preservation efforts that saved Goat Hill from being turned into a quarry. The institution is easily accessible from George Washington Road, with a small dirt parking lot available for visitors. It is recommended to print a map ahead of time, as there are no paper maps available on site. The interactive map on the website shows the full hike in blue and the shorter Overlook only hike in red. Overall, Goat Hill Overlook is a must-visit tourist attraction for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
