Princeton-Blairstown Center
Located at 158 Millbrook Road in Hardwick Township, New Jersey, the Princeton-Blairstown Center has been providing adventure-based, experiential education for marginalized youth for over 115 years. Originally founded as a summer camp by Princeton University students and faculty, the Center now offers a variety of year-round programs that serve nearly 6,000 young people annually. Their Summer Bridge Program, Venture Out, and Leader-in-Training Programs are designed to support approximately 650 students from historically marginalized communities in Trenton, Newark, and Camden, NJ free of charge. The Center focuses on developing critical 21st Century Skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking through social emotional learning. With carefully trained facilitators leading small groups in activities that encourage healthy risk-taking and deep connections, the Center aims to create a positive climate and culture for all participants. Their evidence-based curriculum has shown significant growth in teamwork, problem-solving, and a love for nature in 80-90% of students.
