The institution includes the Old Schoolhouse, built in 1759, which is recognized as the oldest surviving one-room schoolhouse in the state on its original foundation. The NSCDA-NJ is a non-profit lineage society dedicated to historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects. They have been stewards of Peachfield since 1965 and The Old Schoolhouse since 1951. The organization aims to enrich and enlighten the public by preserving the buildings, lands, and collections at their museum properties.
