ShopRite Pharmacy of Delran

"I don't know how anyone can give this pharmacy a 5-star rating. I really don't. I went to the pharmacy this morning (8/24/2023) to buy some Claritin D. A black woman with an attitude waited on me. She neither smiled nor greeted me. I gave her my driver's license. She then told me that the transaction would not go through. I purchased Claritin D at my regular pharmacy a week and a half ago. I did not know that a customer is not allowed to purchase another box until a certain amount of time goes by. The unsmiling employee just gave me back my license, walked away, and returned to what she had been doing earlier. No "good-bye," no apologies, and no suggestion regarding a date when I might possibly be able to purchase the over-the-counter product again. For the life of me I cannot understand how people like her even make it through the interviewing process. The woman had the personality of a paperclip; she has absolutely no business working with the public. None whatsoever. I am a Wegmans employee. I do not enter Shop Rite unless it is absolutely necessary. I find the atmosphere of the store depressing and the employees unfriendly and surly. The black woman who was working at the pharmacy this morning fit in perfectly with the Shop Rite crew. Wegmans, on the other hand, would not have even given her a second glance, which is why Wegmans will always be superior to stores like Shop Rite. No store should be so desperate for help that they have to sink to the level of hiring employees such as the miserable woman whom I had the great misfortune encountering today. She clearly hates her job. She also hates people. It shows. If she hates it so much, she should simply tender her resignation and spare the rest of the public from her hostility and animosity. People like her belong working in file rooms where they have no contact whatsoever with the public. After enduring this unpleasant experience with a Shop Rite employee, I am prouder than ever before to be wearing the Wegmans uniform. In order to get a job at Wegmans, you have to go through a certain amount of vetting just to be able to get a face-to-face interview. For every 100 people who apply for a job at Wegmans, only 4 are chosen. That's how high Wegmans' standards are. It is for this reason that you will never see miserable employees (like the one whom I encountered at Shop Rite this morning) standing behind registers or counters. Shop Rite might be so desperate for help that they have no choice but to select (or shall I say "scrape") people who are literally at the bottom of the barrel. Wegmans, however, never will. My advice to Shop Rite is this: Raise your standards when hiring employees or sell your business to another company who will."
