Perched atop a 500-foot basalt ledge on the First Watchung Mountain, Montclair Hawkwatch offers breathtaking panoramic views of landmarks up to fifty miles away, including the New York City skyline and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. As one of the oldest continuous hawk watches in the nation, established on September 18, 1959, Montclair Hawkwatch is a cherished sanctuary under the stewardship of the New Jersey Audubon Society.
