Stephen Crane House
● ClosedThe Stephen Crane House, located at 508 4th Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey, is a historic tourist attraction and the headquarters of the Asbury Park Historical Society. Built in 1878, this house is one of the oldest standing houses in the city and the only surviving residence in the United States associated with the renowned author of "The Red Badge of Courage", Stephen Crane. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015, the Stephen Crane House was the official residence of Stephen Crane from 1883 to 1892. Visitors can explore the house where Crane wrote his early works and learn about his life and legacy. The house offers drop-in open house tours on Sundays from 12 to 2 pm, as well as tours by appointment for larger groups.
