Vanderhoef-Westervelt House
The Vanderhoef-Westervelt House, located at 794 Park Drive in Clifton, New Jersey, is a historic museum and meeting space within Weasel Brook Park. Dating back to 1720, it is one of the oldest buildings in Passaic County and the oldest county-owned facility. Originally the home of Gilbert Vanderhoef, a flour and gristmill owner, the house has a rich history of ownership and operation as a gristmill until 1897 when it was owned by the Westervelt family. Today, the Vanderhoef-Westervelt House is used as a meeting space for various organizations and hosts exhibitions on the history of Clifton, Passaic County, and Weasel Brook Park. The Departments of Cultural & Historic Affairs and Parks & Recreation also offer educational and recreational programs throughout the year.
