"She said she could file our taxes for 2 states (New York & New Jersey) and she gave us an estimate upwards of $7,000 in returns and then my wife and I got audited and she was of no help to us, so I had to call the IRS and fix it myself over the phone and we received only a little over $2000... Then years later I got a bill for $255 saying something wasn't included in the tax filing that she filed for us in 2020 and I emailed her for help and all she said to me was "Just pay it" So I asked for a refund of the $200 she charged us to pay this bill that we got because of her negligence in filing and she stopped answering me... So we payed her hundreds for her to do NOTHING for us, smh"

"Very unsatisfied with the work Shawna provided. I went to her for my taxes for the first time this year with my husband. We advised her PRIOR to her doing any work that we would need form 8379 filed WITH our taxes. Shawna advised it was no problem. Made us sign, took our payment, and than days later advised us that the form is not able through her system to be filed yet. After a couple of days again I asked her for an update, which she advised she would reach out to her soft ware to see when the form would be available and that we should "sit tight" since there is no time frame when the issue would be resolved. Shawna had also told me this was an "IRS" issue not her software. Of course, this did not make me feel easy as I went to her AHEAD of time to do our taxes and advised her prior to anything being done what needed to be filed. I went to an accountant and advised him of the situation. He advised that form 8379 was not available on CERTAIN SOFTWARES, nothing to do with the IRS. As the IRS of course never neglects forms from being filed. I than requested for him to file our taxes with the form needed and he successfully provided me all the documents that he did file for us. I went back to Shawna and advised her of the situation and she advised that it was "odd" since it was an IRS issue. My only thinking could be that she did not have the correct software, and of course might of not wanted to pay for an update on the software in order to file that document, since our ACCOUNTANT was able to successfully file our taxes. Our accountant also reviewed the documents Shawna had given me and I provided him with all of our forms and he advised Shawna had made a couple of errors in preparing our taxes (THANKFULLY SHE DID NOT FILE). In reviewing the documents she provided that she had prepared, form 8379 was not included in there ( if the form was available on her software that form would of been part of the packet she prepared for us, which it was not.) We asked her what would happen with the 250 that we paid and she advised the job was done, even though she prepared the documents, she provided false information advising the the form 8379 was not available due to irs issues. This was dishonest of her. She refuses to pay back the money although she made errors and gave false information. Will never use her services again or refer her to anyone. ( The only reason I am putting one star is due to the site not letting me post without any stars.)"
