The Shea Center for Performing Arts is a historic 922-seat theater located at 300 Pompton Road in Wayne, New Jersey. Built in 1965, the theater features a state-of-the-art sound system, computerized lighting, and a unique seating/stage configuration that creates an intimate connection between performers and the audience. The venue is air-conditioned and handicapped accessible. Throughout the year, the Shea Center hosts a variety of events including performances by University students, visiting artists, and professional musicians and theatre troupes. The Jazz Room Series showcases both established and up-and-coming jazz performers, as well as talented students from the University's jazz program. The Distinguished Lecturer Series brings in speakers from various fields to engage with audiences on a range of topics.
