The Great Plains Black History Museum, located at 2221 North 24th Street in Omaha, Nebraska, is a museum and tourist attraction dedicated to preserving, educating, and exhibiting the contributions and achievements of African Americans in the Great Plains region. Our mission is to provide a space for learning, exploration, reflection, and remembrance of our history. We are proud to host rotating exhibitions throughout the year, both in-person and online. Our current virtual exhibition showcases powerful portraits of African Americans in early 20th-century America, curated by Doug Keister from glass plate negatives acquired in 1965.
