Located at 211 West 1st Street in Higginsville, Missouri, the Confederate Memorial State Historic Site is a peaceful park and tourist attraction. Formerly the Confederate Soldiers Home of Missouri, this historic site provided care and refuge to over 1,600 Civil War veterans and their families for nearly six decades. While not a battle site, the site's purpose was to support veterans who could no longer care for themselves after the war.
