Commerce Bank

"They difently don't like to help a customer at all. I've been a customer for a long time. We hit a hard patch. They closed our account because we couldn't pay. We then got it caught up and did what they asked. Have not missed a payment since. But the only option to pay is to call and talk to someone and get charged a $15.00 fee and the people I originally talked to said I have to ask them to wave the fee everything. Or I have to send it by mail. Just really ridiculous that's the only ways to pay. I won't ever try to get another card with them."

"I have been a long time customer of Commerce Bank. However, if my bank became overdrawn, they would wait at least a week before charging me an overdraft fee. Lately, I have been getting charged the next day before I even have time to fix it. I also have several deposits in transit that have not cleared the bank in a week, while this whole time my account has been in the negative because I thought they would clear in time. They hit me with over 6 overdraft fees in a week. That's over $200 in overdraft fees! My deposits covered my account, but since they took so long to approve them, they were able to charge me more overdraft fees. I would not recommend this bank to anyone. I have used them for over ten years and enough is enough. I called the number at the bottom in the "response from the owner" and was sent to a branch in St. Louis that had to direct me to my branch that sent me to someone else that continuously explained the overdraft policy to me. Was absolutely no help. I will definitely be switching banks."

"Pathetic customer service. Had an issue where they were going to put a hold on a deposit. Manager told me a bunch of lies about how it was federal rules and nothing they could do. Called another branch and spoke to manager. Could not have been more helpful. Said he would gladly over ride the hold (again, these managers lied and said nothing they could do). When this other branch manager found out I was closer to a different branch than his he even called and told them it was fine to lift hold. I was about to close my account at commerce but now I know it’s just this branch who’s managers lie and look for ways to not help customers. Other branch managers are great!"

"I'm a long time customer of Commerce Bank. I've always enjoyed banking there and even though I feel like everyone in the facility is friendly and courteous, they now force me to sit at a desk to make a deposit or withdraw. I do NOT like that one bit. It's NOT more personable for me. I do NOT want to have a chat. I have business to tend to. I like to be in and out. I will be making a change at the new year."
