Primate garden in Missouri

Primate Canopy Trails is a unique institution located at 1 Government Drive in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It is a 35,000-square-foot outdoor expansion connected to the Primate House, providing a new and exciting experience for visitors. The exhibit, opened in July 2021, features eight new outdoor homes for monkeys and lemurs, as well as a Primate Care Center offering shelter and sleeping areas. Guests can observe the primates in their natural habitat, climbing and playing in the outdoor space. The exhibit also includes climbing structures that allow guests to explore the forest canopy alongside the animals, while learning about conservation challenges facing primates in the wild.

The Reptile House, now known as the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium, is a unique institution located at 1 Government Drive in St. Louis, Missouri. This Mediterranean-style stucco building houses a diverse collection of reptiles and amphibians from around the world, many of which are endangered species. Originally constructed in 1927, the Herpetarium underwent renovations 50 years later and is now home to over 700 animals. The Herpetarium supports four different climates – montane, temperate, tropical, and desert – providing a comfortable environment for its inhabitants. The institution was one of the first of its kind, dedicated solely to snakes, lizards, frogs, and other amphibians. In 2002, it was renamed in honor of the Zoo's Director Emeritus, Charles H. Hoessle.

Located at 1 Government Drive in St. Louis, Missouri, the Bird House is a renowned institution that has been captivating visitors since its opening in 1930. With its Spanish-styled architecture, the Bird House is considered one of the finest structures of its kind in the world. Connected to the Bird House is the outdoor Bird Garden, a tranquil escape designed for bird lovers. Visitors can stroll along a winding pathway that leads to six large aviaries, a walk-through aviary, and a shaded pavilion overlooking an exhibit of cranes. This special place is home to bird species from around the world.
