Tyson Research Center, located at 6750 Tyson Valley Road in Eureka, Missouri, is the environmental field station of Washington University in St. Louis. This institution provides opportunities for environmental research and education for students and faculty from Washington University and beyond. With 2,000 acres of land, Tyson Research Center facilitates multi-scale research and teaching opportunities, allowing for collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and levels of academic training. One of the center's ambitious projects is to document and preserve a physical representative of every plant species growing across its vast grounds. Research conducted at Tyson has revealed that certain populations of mosquitoes are more heat tolerant, while acoustic recorders have been used to detect bats for the first time in the St. Louis Wildlife Project.
