Turtle Playground Sculptures is a unique park located in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Opened in 1996, this playground features giant concrete sculptures of various types of turtles, including a snapping turtle, a soft-shelled turtle, and more. Children of all ages love climbing on the backs of these reptiles and exploring the park. The sculptures were created by Bob Cassilly, the founder of the City Museum, and range in size from seven to forty feet. The park also includes oversized turtle eggs, hatching baby turtles, and a snake sculpture. Turtle Playground was designed by Richard Claybour and funded by Sonya "Sunny" Glassberg as a gift to the children of St. Louis. The turtles are named after her children and grandchildren.
