Boon Area 1 acts as a contemporary community garden and Neighborhood Revenue Generator, creating a beneficial and sought-after space for the community. In 2016, the property was obtained by MRW! in a business zone from the Land Bank, leading to the beautification of the area through the planting of native plants. This revitalization effort has brought life to the disinvested business zone in District 5 on the west side of Kansas City.

Commissioned to commemorate the bicentennial of Lewis and Clark's return on September 23, 2006, this three-and-a-half-ton masterpiece stands as a testament to their indelible mark on American history. The installation, a collaboration with six governmental agencies, was engineered to withstand the Mississippi River's floodwaters, creating a dynamic visual experience when the statue appears to sail with the river's ebb and flow.
