The Intensive English Program (IEP) of Mississippi College, located at 264 Monroe Street in Clinton, Mississippi, offers courses at three different levels: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level includes courses in Reading & Vocabulary, Writing & Grammar, and Listening & Speaking. The program consists of two semesters per academic year, with classes meeting 20 hours per week. Students have the opportunity to work with a Conversation Partner and utilize the Writing Center for additional support. The curriculum focuses on improving language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students are placed into classes based on their performance on the IEP Placement Test, which includes a multiple choice test and an essay writing test. Throughout the program, students build literacy skills, expand their writing abilities, and enhance their spoken English through various activities and assignments. The IEP also emphasizes academic skills such as research, note-taking, and oral presentations. All students are required to purchase course books from the Mississippi College Bookstore, with the cost automatically charged to their MC Business Account.
