Dune Harbor Park is a stunning natural oasis located at 2161 Seminole Road in Norton Shores, Michigan. This park, Muskegon County's largest, spans 377 acres of land with miles of trails through forested dunes and two serene inland lakes perfect for kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. Close to Roosevelt Park, Muskegon Heights, and the City of Muskegon, Dune Harbor Park offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. To access the park, visitors need a Muskegon County Park Pass, available for purchase at self-serve kiosks in the parking lots. Day passes cost $5, while season passes are $20 and valid for the entire calendar year. The park pass can also be bought at the Muskegon Visitor Center, Norton Shores City Hall, or Pioneer Park.
Richmond Woods Nature Preserve
Richmond Woods Nature Preserve is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located at 8000 North Centerline Road in Bitely, Michigan, United States. Visitors can access the preserve through a gravel parking area on the east side of Centerline Road, just north of Lincoln Street. The preserve is known for its pristine sphagnum bog and high-quality sedge meadow wetland, which are home to the American Bittern bird. In addition to its natural features, Richmond Woods Nature Preserve also offers archery deer hunting through the Michigan DNR’s Hunting Access Program. The property is managed for sustainable timber harvest and helps protect Michigan's iconic forest and wetland habitats. The preserve was established by the Land Conservancy of West Michigan in partnership with Ducks Unlimited and the NAWCA grant program.
