● OpenBend of the River Conservation is a 70-acre complex located in southern Berrien County Michigan. Established in 1946, this institution offers a free program to teach gun safety to young individuals, providing equipment and ammunition at no charge. Safety is the top priority at Bend of the River, with strict rules in place such as always keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, keeping fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot, and wearing eye and hearing protection while on the range. The institution has designated rifle and pistol bays, a 300-yard rifle range, and a trap range for clay pigeon shooting. Members and guests are reminded to clean up after themselves and follow all safety guidelines while using the facilities.
