Michigan United Credit Union, located at 4770 Dixie Highway in Waterford Township, Michigan, is a financial institution that was established on July 1, 2021 through the merging of four small-asset sized credit unions. These credit unions, including Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union, Metro North Federal Credit Union, Lakes Community Credit Union, and Unity Credit Union, came together to provide an enhanced experience for their members with a wider range of products and services. Originally founded on November 23, 1931 as Birmingham Teachers Credit Union, the institution was created to serve teachers and employees of the Birmingham School system.
