"I was in a rush in between appointments and was trying to get my banking done quickly in between. Today I brought in a check, that was hand written by my employer (As I have done for years, multiple times a year). When he filled out the check, he squeezed in the 20 in front of 23 to complete the full year. He did that because a few years ago they would not accept his check because he wrote in the date and not the complete year. They would not simply just deposit the check because it appeared somewhat scribbled. It was ONLY the year, not the date nor the amount where he made the tiny error. I said to the teller the last time this happened, they allowed me to initial, and it was approved by the manager. Apparently there is a new sheriff in town I mean staff and a new manager, Rebecca Labadie. And I felt she was quite rude when I asked her and her bank teller to please make an exception, because I was only simply depositing the check. Not cashing it. I have banked here for years and bring these checks in all the time. They said I have to take a check all the way back to my employer for him to simply cross out 2023 that was scribbled. And write in 2023 correctly. Why couldn’t the initial be acceptable along with a 3 day hold perhaps? I think these rules are rigid, and because of the fact that I had more than enough money in the account than the actual check amount, along with the fact I have been banking there since 2017, there should have been some flexibility. I would have been happy with someone simply saying I’m sorry for this inconvenience I understand etc, but nothing like that was said at all. I was told, “it is an altered check and I will not accept this,” by the teller. And when I said to her, the manager who allowed this before sits in that front office, Rebecca who was listening in stated “well that’s my office now I’m the manager.” Well good for Rebecca. Woopty frickin do. Good to know repeat banking customer business means nothing. Had my husband and I not had a equity loan currently open that we pay on, I’d just take my banking to my friendly helpful credit union. The problem with large banks like this is there is no personal relationship and you’re just another account. And by the way please stop cold calling me to open a credit card. I especially won’t do that now. And no I will not invest any of my large accounts with your bank stop calling me for that too. I’ll be sure I do my lending and investing with my credit union."

"The people who work at this bank have no concept for personal boundaries. I was with my mom who was withdrawing money one day and my mom said, “My daughter is buying a house!” the bank teller responded by looking at me and saying, “You shouldn’t be cleaning your mother out of her savings.” My mom was just in there recently and got horrible treatment. They refused to print a document for her and made her run back and forth to the library at least three times. Then some psycho gave her a huge lecture about how she should turn power of attorney over to someone. Stuff like that is literally no one’s business, let alone a stranger who is supposed to be providing customer service. I will take my mom to a different branch entirely to close her accounts with Fifth Third."

"The banker Rebecca Labadie cares more about pushing you to open savings accounts and use their prepaid cards vs listening to the reason you’re actually coming in. Horrible experience. I can’t close my account fast enough! As an update: I called their social media team, who sent my information along. I missed a call but was left a number to call back. I left 3 voicemails for this person and have yet to be called back. Their customer service is apparently abysmal in EVERY department."

"Bank froze my accounts 2 weeks after I wired in my profits from my investment account. Nobody gives any information and the investigator don’t answer the phone. I will be leaving this bank after my account is returned to normal, I suggest you guys do the same. I provided proof of all my wire transfer and they still won’t give me any info."
