Since 1989, over 147,000 trees have been planted in the City of Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park by The Greening of Detroit. They continue to plant trees along city streets, residential areas, and in parks and playgrounds. Additionally, landscape and tree artisan certification classes are provided to Detroiters with barriers to employment, offering hands-on training, job readiness skills, financial literacy, CPR, and MiOSHA training.
