Hiawatha, World's Largest Native American Statue

Standing at 52 feet tall and made entirely of fiberglass, this iconic statue was built in 1964 and underwent a complete structural repair and repainting in 2019. Located just a few blocks south of Ironwood's downtown, the statue faces north towards Lake Superior. Originally inspired by similar "road art" seen in Minnesota, the Hiawatha Statue is a rare example of this type of structure in the United States.
