Dow Environmental Sciences and Engineering Building
The Dow Environmental Sciences and Engineering Building, located at 1400 Townsend Drive in Houghton, Michigan, is a state-of-the-art facility that houses the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering. This green building, funded by the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, has received awards for its innovative design. The Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences is also located within the building, on the north side. The Robbins Atrium, named after Dick Robbins, features prominently in the building and pays homage to his company's tunneling machine that dug the tunnel under the English Channel.
