β OpenSault Historical Sites, located at 501 East Water Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, is a museum and tourist attraction that offers a variety of historical experiences for visitors. Recently, the institution was awarded an Operational Support Grant by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, thanks to the assistance of Knepper Development Strategies. This grant will help support the institution in 2024 and allow them to continue offering educational tours and events. At Sault Historical Sites, visitors can explore a retired Great Lakes freighter, learn about the days of the fur traders, and enjoy beautiful vistas of the area. The institution welcomes group tours with advance reservations, including early or late tours for motorcoach and school groups. Visitors are encouraged to share their tour photos on the institution's Facebook page and stay informed about upcoming events.
