The Point Community Center
The Point Community Center, located at 2595 10th Street North in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a gym and health institution that opened in 2009 in partnership with Centerpoint Church. Our mission is to promote physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth in the greater Kalamazoo area through various programs and partnerships with local initiatives. Our facility spans 24,000 square feet and features a full gymnasium with basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness center, and a concessions stand offering coffee, drinks, and snacks. We host weekly activities such as Toddler Playtime, open gym pickleball & basketball, and fitness training sessions. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2024 Summer Camp and 2025 Winter League registrations! Additionally, we are now the proud home of KABAS, Kalamazoo Academy for Behavioral & Academic Success, a year-round elementary school serving children with learning needs in grades K-6. Donations support our operations and ministry work, and we welcome any contributions. Join us in our mission to create a culture of growth and support in our community!
Kalamazoo Nature Center
Located at 7000 North Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the Kalamazoo Nature Center is a popular park and tourist attraction offering over 15 miles of hiking trails, educational programs, special events, and rotating exhibits in the Visitor Center. One of the current exhibits, "Roots of Wisdom: Native Knowledge, Shared Science," explores the intersection of traditional knowledge and Western science in improving our relationship with the natural world. The center also conducts scientific and land management activities such as bird banding, community science projects, conservation work for endangered species, and wildlife habitat management. With both indoor and outdoor venues available for special events and retreats, KNC is just a short drive from downtown Kalamazoo. Membership grants access to the Visitor Center, trails, exhibits, programs, and events for one year. The center aims to inspire everyone to connect with nature on a daily basis and offers a variety of programs for all ages and interests. Additionally, KNC acknowledges the historical injustices that have led to disparities in access to nature and is committed to becoming a more inclusive and community-focused organization. Please note that KNC is a non-profit nature preserve and does not allow dogs, camping, drones, firearms, bicycles, or motorized vehicles on the trails.
Kalamazoo Municipal Pool
The Kalamazoo Municipal Pool, located at 1018 Walter Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan, offers a variety of services to residents.
