β OpenHomestead Lodge & Dining at Ski Brule is a unique institution located at 397 Brule Mountain Road in Iron River, Michigan. This cozy lodge, situated mid-mountain, offers delicious food and family fun in a historic setting. The lodge itself is the 1800's Oberg Homestead, with vintage photographs and antiques adorning the walls. The original Homestead Act, signed by President McKinley, hangs proudly on display. Guests can gather around the antique pot belly stoves, the only source of heat in the lodge, to swap stories after a day on the slopes. The Homestead Lodge is open Thursday through Sunday, with limited hours during certain times of the season. Visitors can enjoy lunch on the sunny deck while watching the slopes, or warm up inside with a Supreme Hot Chocolate and giant cookie. A highlight of the experience is the Homestead BBQ, Tubing & Sleigh ride on Saturday nights, offering an all-you-can-eat barbecue dinner and fun activities for the whole family.
