Historical Ottawa Pump House Museum
The Historical Ottawa Pump House Museum is a must-visit tourist attraction located at 2282 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland, Michigan, United States. This museum has been praised for its significant contribution to the cultural and educational life of Park Township and the West Michigan area. The Pump House Museum is the last remaining structure of the Hotel Ottawa Complex, originally built in 1901 as an Edison Electric Power Plant to provide lighting for the hotel and grounds. After the hotel burned down in 1923, the building was repurposed as a pump house to provide water to the cottages at Ottawa Beach. In recent years, the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Department partnered with the Historic Ottawa Beach Society to renovate the building and transform it into a museum. The museum now features various exhibitions and events, attracting over 4,000 visitors by the end of the 2018 season. The Pump House Museum is a central feature of the Historic Ottawa Beach Park's Black Lake Boardwalk, offering a unique cultural experience amidst the natural attractions in the area. With its prime location and rich history, the Pump House Museum is a must-visit destination for history buffs and tourists alike.
