Presque Isle Park
Presque Isle Park, located on Peter White Drive in Marquette, Michigan, is a popular regional facility known for its natural beauty. Situated on a 323-acre forested oval-shaped headland/peninsula that juts into Lake Superior, Presque Isle Park offers residents and tourists alike year-round outdoor recreation, serene nature observation, and cultural experiences. The park features diverse landscapes including pebble beaches, rocky cliffs, bogs, and forests, as well as over 100 species of native plants. Visitors can enjoy facilities such as picnic areas, concession stands, hiking trails, playgrounds, a historic band shell, restrooms, and a park shelter. The park is also home to a marina, a light beacon, and a breakwater. The John B. Anderton Trail System and Peter White Drive provide access to the park's many features. The park is open daily during summer months from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., with winter hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bikes are welcome year-round on Peter White Drive. Reservation options are available for the park's pavilion, which offers indoor seating for up to 68 people and outdoor seating for an additional 68. Additional amenities include tables, chairs, a kitchen area, and a gas fireplace. Please note that animals are prohibited at the park, except for service animals.
Seiberling - Stewart Nature Preserve
Seiberling - Stewart Nature Preserve is a stunning park and tourist attraction located in Cedarville, Michigan, United States. Covering a total of 1,683 acres, this preserve is part of the Last Great Place designated by The Nature Conservancy in 1993 along the northern shore of Lake Huron. Visitors can explore the various sections of the preserve, including the Aldo Leopold Preserve, Sheppard-Hardy, Catherine Seiberling Stewart, Wilderness Bay, and Kathy Bricker Nature Lover Preserve. Access to the preserve is only possible by boat or over the ice in winter, with the most comfortable access to the Aldo Leopold Preserve through Leopold Landing at Duck Bay. The trails within the preserve offer a unique and adventurous experience, with signs marking a roughly 1.25 mile loop trail near Duck Bay. The trails are not regularly maintained, leading visitors through dense conifer forests and seasonally wet regions.
