"This colonoscopy was my 10th and the first time that my cleanse was not complete and I associate this with the new process with Plenvu. I have not had any previous issues with the Miralax/Gatorade process. I would rather use the old way and skip the $60 Plenvu. Secondly I have experienced throwing up in my procedure in April of 2022 and this past one in February 2024. Also during the most recent procedure I stopped breathing and had to be turned off the happy juice so I got to experience the joy of a colonoscopy without sedation, not recommended. The cause for my breathing stopping was Sleep Apnea, which I have not experienced in the past and have not since the procedure. I suspect the cause of my upset stomach and the sleep stoppage is caused by the anesthesia that is being used. On a positive note the staff was top notch and took very good care of me. I am supposed to have another procedure in a couple of months but some things are going to have to change."

"Cost of cipro/dexamethasone ear drops for swimmers ear ended up costing me $1,500.00 because the ER physician, as a courtesy, walked over to the inpatient pharmacy and filled the script. Had I elected not to have the ER physician do this, I would have been able to take my Rx and have it filled at my pharmacy for 10 BUCKS!!! I disputed this gouging, only to have it confirmed as "accurate." While satisfied in the care I received, I am thoroughly disappointed in your inflated billing practices and hope that this can be avoided in the future for someone who may be less than able to pay for it. Caring for your community should not include this kind of gouging. Under Michigan Consumer Protection Act Section 3(z), (445.903) "unfair, unconscionable, or deceptive methods, acts, or practices in conduct of trade or commerce" are defined as, "charging the consumer a price that is grossly in excess of the price at which similar property of services are sold.""

"My husband just had heart bypass surgery. Every person that we encountered was amazing, everyone was so helpful and very professional, put our family at ease during this stressful event. The only complaint we had was lack of staff. Actually his surgery was postponed and had to be rescheduled because of no doctor available to keep an eye on him after surgery. Some nights there was not enough help for someone to walk him , husband claimed one person on duty for the whole floor. Overall we were happy with the doctor, nurses, aides, highly recommend McLaren."

"My experience the day I was there was fine. My procedure had to be canceled, but the nurse and doctor took the time to talk me through my options, and were very understanding. ... Then the next day I saw that I was charged a $704 co-pay for a procedure which did NOT happen. I immediately called and was told the charges would be reversed, but would take a few business days. It's now been 8 days and no refund for the $704 I paid for a procedure I did not have."

"I am 100% Team McLaren! I proclaim to all that I had the absolute BEST care ever during my recent surgery, which includes the first moment of scheduling to discharge. The staff and facilities were top notch and not once did I feel less than the most important person in that hospital when I was there. There are many unsung heroes in the medical field, so I would like to include EVERYONE involved in any aspect of patient care when I say Thank You for a job well done! McLaren certainly has scored a big win and should be proud of all the professional, competent, caring and highly skilled doctors, nurses and paraprofessionals on their staff. The facilities alone assured me that there is extreme pride and a genuine effort to make this hospital function as a successful team. Without the state-of-the-art equipment, the space, the organization, the cleanliness, the messaging, the process & procedures in place, etc., this review could have been written much differently. McLaren has it going on to make all aspects of patient care the golden playbook for others to follow."
