“So... Overall, it's a place to try next level food of taste and presentation of modern Greek cuisine, that what I would say. Extremely interesting menu, because of that I gave 5 stars on food, plus the Chef Giannis explained with details couple of things to the all group regarding the methods of cooking the dishes - impressive! Service needs to be a bit slow as we felt that we had been rushed a bit... The environment is quite not what I expected, too dark restaurant, I observed other tables and people were struggling to read the menu and lady next table got her torch on it for. However, I think that I would be back soon as I really want to discover more of the creative Chef.”

“We came in as a group of 6 and immediately had welcoming service, we were presented our table where they then brought out delicious turkish bread and dips while we looked at the menu. They recommended a meat platter for the group, we took a chance thankfully! The meat was fantastic and the perfect amount for us all, we had the kunafa for desert, which was a sweet cheese desert, likened to an apple pie but cheese! We all loved it, such a beautiful place to eat”

“This Afghan restaurant has authentic delicious Afghan food. Like most Asian eateries, you go for the food not the service. There usually is a long wait to order and to get the food so it's better to order take away and give them an extra time to pick up your order. The Afghan dumplings are delicious and their Puri is very popular.”

“Used to cater from my birthday (for 50 people) and the food was divine! Plenty of lamb and chicken and rice, including Arabic salad and yoghurt and cucumber dip. Everyone raved about the food at the event and wanted the details, which I have passed on. Staff were very friendly!! Highly recommend the food! Try it, you will not be disappointed!!”

“Had the mixed shish as a takeaway and was not disappointed. Meat flavours were excellent and the salad and rice were really tasty (I don't know what the yellow stuff was in the salad but whatever it was was really good!). I will be back again.”

“Kabul Spices is what I would classify as an ‘honest’ restaurant. They don’t have overly elaborate descriptions on the menu, not plush, not all over social media, BUT, they serve amazing food at reasonable prices. I’m a repeat customer and the consistency is excellent. Meats are well seasoned and the sides are generous. Service is brilliant too. Whenever I visit Pakenham, I will always try to catch a meal here.”

“We wanted to try out Lebanese food and Balila was close enough to not go. We also noticed all the good reviews and decided to visit for a late lunch. We didn't make a mistake! This family run restaurant and take away joint is a small gem. The owners welcomed us to their restaurant and it was clear that they are proud to cook for us. The quality as well as the quality of the food is very good. All dishes were presented well and seemed freshly cooked. The lamb shank is a must try. The meat on the bone was super soft and the tangy sauce on top made the overall taste go up another notch. The open plate of shwarma weigh lamb looked great and tasted great too. I've again the meat was well cooked and the combination of pickle, chips, and salad and the lemony taste that tickles your taste buds. Yum! We also took vegetarian Makbeh (veritable stew) for our vegetarian family member. The verdict was that the dish was good, but the tomato base of the stew was too strong and overpowered the whole dish, which made it taste more like passata. Maybe something needs to change. An additional cold item was the Okra dish, which we all enjoyed. I never thought that I could enjoy a cold okra dish. And here we are. We liked the Lebanese bread, which we tried with almost all dishes. The trick is to fill the meat, pickles, chips and sauce on the bread to eat it as a roll. Loved it! Balila is great, and we'll definitely return.”

“Best middle eastern restaurant in Melbourne. A friend invited us to her birthday dinner at dukkah. As soon as you walk in, the place smells really good, so aromatic. The staff were friendly and helpful with the dietary requirements. They confirmed all menu is halal. We shared the cheese cigars, hummus, zaatar calamari for entrees and for mains we had the chicken shawarma tagine and the lamb tagine. The food was sensational. We loved everything on our table. The flavours and freshness of every dish was so good. We had both desserts on the menu, om ali and mango kunafa, both were to die for. What's really exciting about this place is that they have taken some of the Middle Eastern dishes to the next level. It's always exciting to find a new restaurant that still has such a tasty menu. We have been either dining in or ordering take away on regular basis since then.”

“Absolutely delicious and authentic food cooked by Sam, keeping true to her mixed Egyptian/Sudanese heritage. Portions are very big so great value for money, and service is always with a smile. So far have had the Molokhia and Shaia (both with lamb), and was very impressed with the authentic flavours - the eateries in this Noble Park station area are known for not "tuning it down for the average Anglo" and Pyramids does not disappoint in this regard! Finish off your meal with some ginger/cardamom Arabic coffee and you will leave with a smile on your face and a full tummy!”

“I don't know why it ever took me so long to try it here. It's really good. I cheated and looked at the menu online ahead of time, and it sounded so delish, and didn't disappoint. It's warm and cozy inside, with nice decor and lots of tealights to give it a nice atmosphere (along with the Afghani music). The waiter was quick to greet us and give us the menus, and after ordering, the food came out in good time and was all cooked the way we asked for, and the right modifications were made too. The potatoes were delicious, and thankfully someone else at the table had bread I could steal to help mop up some sauce. The chicken kebabs were beautiful and tender and full of lovely flavour. They came with bread and salad. I don't think there's anything I could fault as it was just so morish. I couldn't finish everything, therefore I didn't stuff myself with dessert, even though I wanted to, but from what we all ate, we all agreed we'd come back again for sure. Parking can be a tiny bit of a pain in the you-know-where, but otherwise, it's a restaurant that I'd definitely recommend to anyone who loves Indian and/or Nepalese food, but wants a slight change in flavour. It's very good, and can't wait to try it again.”

“Spur of the moment decision resulted in this gem of a discovery. The Castle surprised us with its bright and cheerful ambience. We were quickly shown to our table. Service was prompt and efficient. No shortage of staff here. A bottle of Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris accompanied beautifully with the various authentic Lebanese dishes. There's no rushed service here. They allowed plenty of time before serving the Lebanese coffee and delicious cakes. Sugar is a must in the coffee. A most attentive Manager with a sense of humour and happy to impart some Lebanese language knowledge. Will be back with a larger group soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening.”

“One of our favourite neighbourhood restaurants. We came for a banquet on Valentine's Day, and it was very affordable compared to most other places that had special menus. We were satisfied but not overfull, which is often the case with Mediterranean banquets. Look for discounts through Liven and EatClub (etc.) - they can be significant.”

Honestly the kabuli pulao with lamb shank is SO FREEKING GOOD! and huge portion! 2 giant lamb shanks and heaps of rice! So tender definutly get the lamb karahi to go with it yumyumyum We ate so much we are in a food coma lol You get generous sides too! (We already started eating so they look empty in the photo hahahhaha sorry!”
