Awarded the 2021 Coastal Stewardship Award by the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation, the Buzzards Bay Coalition is dedicated to the restoration, protection, and sustainable enjoyment of the Bay and its watershed. At Hamlin Crossing, you can witness firsthand the Coalition’s commitment to conservation and community engagement.

Welcome to Carvalho Farm Trail, a serene park located at 201 Shaw Road, Fairhaven, Massachusetts, nestled within the beautiful landscapes of Buzzards Bay. Owned and maintained by the Buzzards Bay Coalition, Carvalho Farm Trail offers visitors an opportunity to explore a diverse mix of habitats, from lush meadows and enchanting woodlands to tranquil wetlands and scenic salt marshes. This picturesque property was acquired in 2017 with support from the community and conservation grants, ensuring the preservation of one of Buzzards Bay’s healthiest waterways. Carvalho Farm’s Indian Rock Trail, just under a mile long, provides an easy and invigorating walk suitable for all hikers. Begin your journey through the tall grasses of former farmland, now a thriving natural meadow, perfect for birdwatching. As you venture further, enter a sun-dappled forest where a winding stream and rich wetlands await exploration. Don’t forget to look for vibrant wildflowers, frogs, and salamanders along the way.
