La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Auburn Worcester

"Total dump, not worthy of 1 star. Checked into room 101, room had foul smell and stains all over carpet consistent with pets urine, there is a hole in the shower that is large enough to snake a camera through wall from adjacent room. I asked to change rooms and was (immediately without looking at computer) told there were none available. Within minutes of being in the room, started to hear disturbance from guests above me running and jumping, I went out shortly after and returned at 7 to hear the jumping and running from above louder. I went to reception and complained and they told me they have long term residents with children in this hotel but THEY HAVE QUITE HOURS AFTER 9 PM AND TO LET THEM KNOW THEN IF NOISE CONTINUES (not making this up). I told receptionist I paid for a hotel room, not an apartment and expect quite my entire stay. I demanded to be switched to another room and got the run around, I then demanded to check out and get refunded but they couldn't do that either. After making it known that I won't just accept these conditions they suddenly found a room and offered me an upgrade to suite 216. This "suite" is an "upgraded dump"; stains all over carpet, 6 large water stains in ceiling, about an hour into my stay I started to smell cigarette smoke and had to keep window open, disruptive noise of guests above running and jumping continued sporadically throughout the night, after being woken up 3 times I stayed in bed awake from 3 am on watching TV and hearing more noise. I have never experienced a worse hotel but not surprised after reading the other reviews about this hotel. They respond to positive feedback but not much to say about negative ones, obvious they could care less. Their price maybe slightly competitive but absolutely not worth it. I wouldn't take a free night here !"

"We lasted barely 10 minutes in room 133 and my friends in room 102 felt the same way. Our room in 133 smelled like cigarettes and dog pee and had black mold all over the walls, windows, and ceiling. In 102 it smelled like cigarettes and weed and there were people screaming at each other and threatening each other in the room next door. We felt super uneasy and unsafe here, even 10 minutes in the room made us congested and sick feeling. However, I will say the front desk worker Kelley was extremely understanding and helpful through the situation. She was very fast to call her manager and offer us a refund and solutions to the problem."

"Staff is friendly. Breakfast is good but limited with scrambled eggs and sausage with the usual cold items. The Dish TV system was a real pain to figure out and it kept interrupting us during an NFL game wanting to clear a history, etc. and wouldn't return to the channel being watch. Otherwise, it was a good stay with Outback Steakhouse a convenient walk next door."

"First and foremost, they charge a $100 additional deposit WITHOUT any notification at the time of booking. When asked about the charge, the clerk started by saying that everyone had to pay it. I pressed and told him he didn't answer the question he said that it's because some people will smoke in the rooms. Yes, our room stank of old cigarette smoke, not badly, but it was there. They refund the $100 without checking the room the next morning. I took pics just in case. The mattress was stained, the tub was slow, and they were vacuuming the room above us at 7:30 in the morning! They gave some excuse about 12 hour shift for railroad workers, but if that's the case, put them on the first floor so guests don't have to hear the vacuuming overhead! Oh, and bring ear plugs, poor room insulation so you'll have constant truck noise from the 2 adjacent interstates. We skipped the breakfast, it didn't have the vibe of being clean, and there wasn't even hot water for tea available. For the $$, I'd expect much better."

"I hate doing negative reviews, but here goes. The best part was location near a steakhouse, but there were no other options thst we could walk to. Our flight had been delayed til early a.m., and my family was tired and hungry. (Even so, spending $70 was pushing the limits of our budget. ) The first issue was the 2-3 flat tires on both of the largest luggage carts. We found the smallest was mobile and took our 5 large suitcases and 5 smaller ones into our room on the 3rd floor before leaving to eat. Despite multiple signs indicating no smoking allowed, our room stank with cigarette smoke! We were very tired at 830 p.m. and needing to be up at 230 a.m. the following a.m., so, we all took antihistamines figuring we would just stay put in this room. When reporting to the Front Desk changing rooms was not even offered. Instead the young woman gave me a small plug in air freshener which did next to nothing to mask the odor. Reported the luggage cart issue, and was told Maintenance would be made aware by both the evening Front Desk person and the morning one. Due to the very early departure at 330 a.m. we would miss the breakfast offering. We were allowed to make coffees in the reception area when we asked."
