Nestled in the serene town of Hamilton, Massachusetts, Colt Island Park offers a tranquil escape into nature's embrace. As part of the esteemed Mass Audubon network, our park is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Massachusetts for both people and wildlife. At Colt Island Park, we provide a sanctuary for relaxation, exploration, and education. From spring through early fall, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of our park by canoe, kayak, or boat. As the summer sun sets, we offer a myriad of resources and activities to help families savor the remaining warm days and smoothly transition into the school year.

Whether you’re capturing the stunning landscapes through photography, engaging in volunteer work, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk along our trails, your involvement makes a difference. Our ongoing campaign to reduce rodent poison use and our educational initiatives are just a few ways we're working to safeguard our environment.

Reviews
"Colt Island is maintained by Foote Brothers Canoes and camping is permitted by reservation only. There are two campsites, one for larger groups that can accommodate 10+ tent sites and another that can accommodate 2-3 tents or several hammock tents. Both have fire pits and bench seating but camping is pack-in/pack-out with limited amenities. The island is right in the middle of the nature reserve-estuary and far from any man made structures or sounds. It is quite beautiful. Access is by boat only."
"We do the overnight Salem Rd. run from Foote Brothers several times a year. We love the campsites and the river. It is very peaceful."
"Love the place. When Ipswich River is frozen, I ski on it and usually stop by the island for a break."
