Lawson Tower
β OpenLawson Tower is a must-see tourist attraction located at 330 First Parish Road in Scituate, Massachusetts. Situated behind the First Parish Unitarian Church and next to Central Park Housing, this impressive structure is open to the public on designated Society Open House dates. The tower, built by stock market giant Thomas W. Lawson in 1902, is a stunning example of architectural beauty and historical significance. Visitors can climb all 123 stairs to the top of the tower and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The tower houses a set of ten bells commissioned by Lawson himself, which are played by a skilled carillonneur on special occasions. The bells, ranging in size from three hundred to three thousand pounds, create a melodious sound that can be heard across town.
