As one of only two free-standing museums in the country focused on Coast Guard history, we are proud to occupy the historic 1856 U.S. Customs House in Barnstable. Our mission is to celebrate the deep and rich legacy of the Coast Guard on Cape Cod, showcasing its important role in protecting shores, rescuing distressed seamen, enforcing laws, and promoting safety at sea. With over 2700 square feet of exhibit space filled with historic artifacts, models, and stories, visitors can explore the fascinating history of the Coast Guard.
