I brought my riding boots in Saturday with a pick up on Monday—that is efficient—but-I received a call about an hour before closing time the same day because the boots are ready! I can ride tonight!! He explained what would be done and how he would do it—and polished them too. He made me feel like a long time customer and an old friend. I just might drop in again sometime to embarrass him by saying how great-yes, great a job he did. Well done. I’m sorry I do not have his name"

"Unbelievable! I was about to throw out my absolute favorite pair of wedges because the stitching holding the leather onto the shoe was coming undone and the sides of the wedge part had become so scuffed over the years they were not looking very good. I hadn't even considered a cobbler! Didn't really know they were still around anymore with people buying disposable shoes at Walmart, etc. I mentioned this to my landlord, who suggested I bring them to Brandolini's. She said they were very experienced, friendly, and would tell me up front IF they were salvageable, and if so, how much it would cost. I figured it couldn't hurt, so I brought them in. First off, I was greeted like a family member, not a customer. When I explained my situation, they examined my shoes, and although the brand name tag had long since worn off, they immediately said, "Ahhh! A woman who knows her shoes! These are Steve Maddens, no?" I was shocked! How could they tell? I was told I brought them in just in time. The stitching was still salvageable, mainly because they were made well to begin with. I was quoted only $10.00 and told to come back a few days later. When I returned, I honestly thought that they had replaced my shoes with new ones because they were unable to fix mine... but realizing the model hadn't been available in over 5 years, I started asking questions. "How did you get your hands on a brand new pair of shoes that were discontinued over 5 years ago?" All I heard was laughter as they tried to convince me that these were in fact MY SHOES! The stitching was absolutely perfect! And I don't know what they did to the sides, but I'm not kidding when I say that it took some convincing on their part to make me believe these were in fact my shoes! Since then, whenever my shoes start getting worn out, I bring them in to be "touched up." And for $10.00, I got my old shoes to look like new instead of spending over $100.00 on a replacement! And when I bring them in BEFORE they are on the verge of death, it helps them because they don't have to do surgery on my shoes! It's like your car... if you spend a bit more and get a nice car, and get your oil changes on time, etc. then you won't have to spend a fortune down the road. I have lost count of how many shoes I have had fixed, or just a "tune-up" on that saved me $100.00 or more to buy a new pair. Tell your friends!"

"I have a pair of beautiful pink high heels, made of a satin/ suede like material, that I wore out in Boston the other night. Over the course of the night they got very dirty, so I went to a cobbler in Natick to get them cleaned up. The man behind the counter there told me it was a lost cause but that he would "try his best" for $25. I tried this place next, and it was a very different response. The man said he would try his best, for $18, and if the stains didn't come out, I wouldn't have to pay. Not only was it cheaper, but he was so much nicer about it!! Of course when I came back to retrieve them they looked beautiful, and good as new! This place is a 10/10. :)"

"This place is an old-world treasure. I recently have made a point to purchase shoes that I know can be resoled or repaired. I had two pairs of shoes repaired here. I was a bit nervous at first, not knowing exactly how they would turn out, but the Russian proprietor assured me not to worry, that he knew what to do. He has decades of experience, and told me he actually went to school for shoe design back in Russia. He replaced the heels on both pairs of shoes, and the results were very professional. Save yourself some money...instead of throwing away your shoes when they wear out, invest in a good pair of welted shoes, and have them repaired again and again. You'll save money in the long term, and reduce waste piling up in the landfill!"
