The Hampshire College Farm Center, located at 793 West Street in Amherst, Massachusetts, is a hub for sustainable agriculture, education, and community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs. Originally established in the late 1970s for on-campus research, the farm has since grown to provide local, organic produce and pasture-raised meat to the campus and surrounding community. In 1992, a small group of students started a 30-member organic vegetable CSA as a Division III project, which has now expanded to serve over 100 members. The farm continues to uphold its academic roots, offering opportunities for students and faculty to explore topics such as sustainable agriculture, animal behavior, and local food systems.
