Welcome to Congregation Agudath Achim, a vibrant and inclusive place of worship located at 36 Winthrop Street, Taunton, Massachusetts. Our synagogue serves the Greater Taunton Jewish Community, including the surrounding towns of Raynham, Lakeville, Norton, Easton, and more. With a proud heritage spanning over 110 years, we are a progressive and independent congregation, home to 63 member families who celebrate and uphold Jewish traditions.
At Congregation Agudath Achim, we believe in fostering an egalitarian and welcoming environment. We are accepting of the LGBTQ community, people of color, and individuals from diverse faith traditions. Whether you are a Jewish individual, part of a Jewish family, or exploring Jewish life, you are welcome here. We live by the belief that all people are created in the image of God and strive to embody the call to "be a light to the nations."

Our congregation has evolved alongside the changing world. From our origins as an Orthodox congregation in the early 1900s to becoming part of the Conservative movement, we are now an unaffiliated congregation reflecting current trends in Jewish family life. Although not officially affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, we have embraced Reform practices since the early 2000s.

The Congregation is very welcoming to interfaith families. My four children have all been raised as part of this congregation. They participated in the Religious School from birth to their B'nai mitzvahs and now assist the teachers in the classrooms. The Temple, which is over 100 years old, is beautiful and rich in history. When I joined and entered, I felt like I was home!"
