"Poor coverage. Nearest urgent care I can go to is 15 miles away. Just got a letter stating as of jan 1, 2023 prescriptions won't be covered at CVS or wall greens. Don't bother calling it is likely that the person on the phone will know less than you do about your plan. I was treated for lymphoma at Dana Farber. Dana Farber is covered under my plan but I found out the hard way that some of the treatment because it was done at brigham and women's hospital may not be covered. 1 day I had a procedure scheduled at 10AM to have a port put in the day before I was admitted for a stem cell transplant. When I arrived I was informed that my insurance may not cover the procedure and that I would need to pay the $20-30,000 up front. After hearing that I spent 45 minutes on yhe phone with BMC/wellsense trying to figure out why somethings were covered and others were not and why I was not informed when the procedure was booked not 5 min after I went in. I couldn't get an answer. I also asked several time to talk to another person and never got anyone else. Then I was hung up on. My care coordinator called me shortly after and said everything associated with my stem cell transplant was covered and she had the approval #. I don't know why the person at the insurance company couldn't figure that out after 45 min. After my stem cell transplant I was scheduled for radiation. The radiaton oncologist said that my insurance company covered the radiation but not the consult with the dr. ($800). Again I couldn't get any answers on the phone. I had to look up my claims on the website and look up all the codes and call figure out for myself what was covered then call the insurance company and my dr. and explain that the consult was covered. This all has caused a ridiculous amount of stress and frustration at a time in my life when I didn't need extra stress. I was stressed enough about the effects of treatments and if I would be around to see my kids grow up."
