"So for 2yrs I've been doing their job back and forth with them because their claiming the doctor is not doing the right paperwork. Now that I was involved they say that my doctor never provided them that this med works for me. I told them how would anyone know if it works if you don't give me the approval to get them. Called them 2or 3 weeks later and they gave me another story of why. This is a fraud move and we all are being ripped off. Their not providing us with what.we need and waiting for emergency ti happen. NO GOOD FOR A HEALTH COVERAGE"

"Needed a life saving medication and HNE won't cover anything till I reach my deductible. They get a piece of my paycheck every pay period but won't cover any portion of my medication. On top of paying them about $150-$200 every pay period ,I now have to pay 1000 for 3 months of meds. Needless to say I didn't get the meds, idk what my family would do if something were to happen. Honestly idk what I'm paying for at this point. Wish their was a negative star option."

"I would rate this agency negative stars if I could. Read the reviews and believe them. They will make you jump through indefinite hoops to get access to your own insurance. Then once you do, prepare for the least amount of coverage possible. The price of my medications doubled in the span of one month. Mind you this is after hours wasted arguing and going back and forth on how to change HNE from my secondary to primary insurance. Answer changed after every phone call and had to get a superior involved who finally resolved the issue - which should have been a nonissue in the first place. Save yourself the trouble and headache and seek coverage elsewhere if you can."

"I make 33k a year, and apparently that’s “a lot of money” to HNE. I pay $130/month for my insurance, plus $50 for a much-needed antidepressant and now—suddenly—$37.50 for another medication that I’ve been taking for a decade. That brings the total up to over $200/month for just SOME of my basic needs (it doesn’t include the other—now $10 or more—medications I have been taking for many years.) I have a long list of health problems that I now can’t afford to have. I’ve been forced to switch to a new antidepressant even though I went through 7 antidepressants over the course of as many years to find one that didn’t have intolerable side effects. I recently had to move back in with my parents at 28. I had no choice. I want to move, but I’d need to increase my hours at work. I was told by an insurance consultant that if I do that, my monthly premium will double and I will have a $2000 deductible. So I’m stuck living with my parents, and I can barely afford to pay my bills. Thank you, Health New England. I might as well stop taking my medications and die. It seems to me that that’s what you want."
