Welcome to the North Reading Water Department, a vital branch of the local government dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of water quality and service for our community. Located at 235 North Street, North Reading, Massachusetts, our department is a part of the Department of Public Works and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the town’s comprehensive water infrastructure. Our Water Division is committed to efficiently managing the Town’s two water treatment plants, pumping stations, and water supply wells. We maintain three water storage tanks, approximately 80 miles of water mains, 750 fire hydrants, and 4,600 water service connections and meters. Our dedicated team also plays a crucial role in snow removal, emergency response, and other departmental functions as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of North Reading residents.
