"It was a recommended place to go to from Mercy Medical Center where I had just received some counseling and treatment for my breast cancer. I was unaware that we needed to schedule an appointment. We just showed up, but they were so kind and welcoming and fortunately it turned out an individual on hand to let us look at some wigs. She was so lovely and so accommodating and the whole experience for myself my mom and my sister was all we could talk about the whole day. It really was a wonderful welcoming experience and I look forward to going back and taking advantage of some of the other programs that they provide."

"Cancer House of Hope works to enhance the lives of people with cancer and those who care about them by providing emotional, educational, social, and spiritual support. We are here in West Springfield to provide free-of-charge cancer support services and relaxation programs for those who face this devastating disease. We focus on reducing stress and promoting comfort for people with cancer and their families and friends by offering programs and services in a non-institutional and home-like setting. Our volunteers and professionals are familiar with effects of cancer on a personal basis and genuinely offer understanding, encouragement, and hope. We are respectful of each individual’s coping strategies and the decisions he/she makes about treatment of his/her cancer and the use of any services we offer. Trust, integrity and open communication are intrinsic to the job satisfaction of all staff. The Cancer House of Hope is open to members of the cancer community, regardless age, race, creed, sex, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, marital status, and socioeconomic status. It is our vision to be a supportive, caring and hopeful place of healing by cancer survivors, their families and friends, the local business and healthcare community and the community-at-large. All groups are small and specific. Our services are intended to offer community, serenity, and awareness. All facilitators and practitioners are licensed and many are long-term cancer survivors."
