Cranberry Bog Reservation parking
The Cranberry Bog Reservation parking is located at 65 Elm Street in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States. This park was purchased by the town in 1986 and covers approximately 316 acres, with a 165-acre Cranberry Bog in South Chelmsford and the other half in Carlisle managed by the Carlisle Conservation Commission. The park features a wide flat trail leading to a small dam that historically served for cranberry farming. The property is mostly wetlands, providing habitat for various wildlife such as migratory waterfowl, mink, otter, beaver, great blue heron, deer, and other mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. It is also a great spot for fishing, with a naturally reproducing population of largemouth Bass and chain pickerel. The park is a beautiful natural resource and a great place for outdoor activities and wildlife observation.
Monument Mountain Reservation
Monument Mountain Reservation is a park and tourist attraction located in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, United States. From the 1,642-foot summit of this popular peak, visitors can gaze across the splendor of the Housatonic River Valley. The mountain has been sacred to the Mohican people and their ancestors since ancient times, with stone offerings imbued with prayers left on the mountain creating the "monument" for which it is named. The original monument was destroyed by white residents after the Mohicans were dispossessed, but was later recreated near the Mohican Monument Trail. Monument Mountain has long inspired works of art and literature, with authors such as William Cullen Bryant, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Herman Melville finding motivation for their works on the mountain. Today, more than 20,000 hikers ascend to its summit, Peeskawso Peak, each year. Three trails offer scenic ways to explore the mountain's pale quartzite geology and views out to Mount Greylock and the Catskill Mountains.

This picturesque park is a part of the Apponagansett Bay Farm conservation effort, proudly acquired by the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT) in partnership with the Buzzards Bay Coalition in August 2019. Spanning 77 acres, the reserve offers a rich tapestry of landscapes, including 7.4 acres of salt marsh, 21 acres of forested swamp, an 8-acre agricultural field, two streams, wooded uplands, and two vernal pools. Begin your adventure at the trailhead located in the parking lot, where you can embark on approximately 2 miles of scenic trails. As you explore, enjoy the vibrant sounds of nature, such as wood frogs and spring peepers in the wetlands along the White Trail during early spring. In the summer, the Yellow Trail offers opportunities to spot ospreys and willets from the edge of the salt marsh. The Red Trail provides a chance to observe hawks hunting in the agricultural field, and perhaps even hear the distinctive call of the barred owl. Don't miss Table Rock on the Blue Trail, a striking boulder left behind by the last Ice Age.
