Reviews
"My kid loves the library, all the interesting books are available, it is clean and the staff is really courtes.... The activities are also diverse for kids and adults."
"Helpful staff, great seasonal librarian picks on the shelf at the far end of the main lobby, and a space that feels alive, bright, airy, and welcoming. The bulletin board at the entrance is worth checking out. It seems there is always something interesting going on. Some programs are virtual so attending from home can be an option. I love how libraries in the region share resources. I can reserve a book on line and pickup/drop off at the most convenient library. Having a "Library of Things" is a wonderful recent trend. I'm glad Dracut has items to lend. If you need a restroom, borrow the key from the circulation desk. Libraries are supportive magical places for me. However, I am white, older, and don't require much help. Reading all the reviews from other patrons I am saddened that so many have had bad experiences in recent months. Perhaps some cultural sensitivity training might help. Perhaps something like a "Please DO NOT DISTURB - Testing in progress." door hanger could be offered when a meeting room is reserved. When a child on the spectrum is visiting (and loud), perhaps the doors between the children's area and the rest of the library could be closed (many years ago, my now college age kiddo needed a similar accommodation at another Library.) You wouldn't be upset about a patron who uses a wheelchair not being able to walk, so why expect a kiddo on the spectrum to behave as a neurotypical kiddo of the same calendar age? I hope my review is seen as constructive. I mean no ill will to anyone."
"Good place for study but you guys need to work on the study rooms they way you send people out is definitely not professional! And absolutely rude. Other than that everything else is good I love being there and the lady at the reference desk skinny tall with glasses she’s good at her job.. good customer service.. communication skills.. and she’s definitely not bias. I love dealing with her."
"I have booked the reading room and this is not the first time to extend to an hour due to the exam. In the middle of a proctor exam, one of the librarian "one skinny tall female" opened the door and asked me to packed my things and leave. The examiner saw her and heard her voice. The exam was terminated. I had to paid to retake it. I requested to speak to the manager and she spoke in favor of her and pretended to be sorry. I don't know if it is racism. Before asking someone to leave the reading room, check the reservation ending time. I was scheduled to leave at 11:30 am and she came in at 10:25 am. If she is not sure of what she is doing, I suggest she get more education and figured out where she belongs. It is an awful experience. I wish the manager could opt to talk to her about checking the booking scheduled before sending someone out of the room. She started to blamed the newly hired for extending the time, forgetting to know that she did give it to me for 3hrs."
"The children's room is amazing. My son loves going there to play with the toys, and the monthly scavenger hunt is really fun for him! Us adults appreciate the programming for children and adults, and the library of things that are available to borrow!"
