Monocacy National Battlefield | Thomas Farm Loop Trail is a historic institution located in Frederick, Maryland, United States. Visitors can explore the walking trails and tour the historic farms where the Battle of Monocacy took place in 1864. The Junction Trail, starting at the park visitor center, covers the area where Confederate forces deployed to attack the bridge at the river below. The Gambrill Mill area includes an accessible boardwalk with a view of the Monocacy River where Union forces defended against the Confederate attack. The Worthington Farm area is where Confederate forces crossed the river to flank the Union forces, and the Thomas Farm was fiercely contested during the battle.
