Originally opened in 1949 as the county's only all-black high school, the building was used by the Howard County Public School System for over 50 years before being transformed into a cultural center. The center offers a variety of spaces for rental for all occasions, with prices set to increase on July 1, 2023. The Virginia Randolph & Cecil Burton Multipurpose Room is available for reservation by the hour, with a 2-hour minimum requirement.
