The institution aims to preserve and propagate the rich musical heritage of South Asia through Indian classical music, offering individual and group training to develop proper sitar playing skills and connect with traditional raags and taals. Following the Senia Maihar Gharana, Sitar Niketan provides a space where students can broaden their musical horizons through collaborations with other disciplines in performance. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, the institution has continued to teach, create, and present online student programs with newfound creativity, showcasing the unifying energy among students of all ages and backgrounds. The Sitar Niketan Ensemble recently performed at the DC South Asian Music Festival, demonstrating their dedication to sharing the peaceful resonance of Indian classical music with the world.

β OpenWildwood Summer Theatre, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, is a renowned institution that was founded in 1965 by a group of students from Walter Johnson High School. This theatre company was created by theatrically minded students who wanted to continue their passion for musical theatre during the summer months. Despite starting with limited resources, they successfully produced their first show, Bye Bye Birdie, and thus, Wildwood Summer Theatre was born. For over 50 years, WST has been dedicated to providing young performers aged 14 to 25 with the opportunity to showcase their talents in high-quality musical productions.
