Parking - Visitor's Center
● OpenThe Parking - Visitor's Center in Arbutus, Maryland, United States is operated by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Maryland Park Service. From April through October, visitors can park their vehicles for $2 in-state or $4 out-of-state on weekdays, with buses charged $10 per bus. On weekends and holidays, the fee is $3 per person in-state or $5 per person out-of-state, with buses charged per person. From November through March, an honor system is in effect with a fee of $2 in-state or $4 out-of-state for vehicles, and $10 per bus for buses. Children in safety seats, seniors 62 & older with the Golden Age Pass, individuals with the Universal Disability Pass, members of the Maryland National Guard, and active duty military personnel with their military ID card have complimentary access. The institution also provides information on the National Human Trafficking Hotline and works towards securing a sustainable future for the environment, society, and economy of Maryland. Additionally, the Maryland General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Audits operates a fraud hotline to report any allegations of fraud or abuse of State government resources.

Outdoor Aquatic Center

Whether you want to swim laps, play sand volleyball, or simply relax on the pool deck, the OAC is the perfect place to stay active during the warmer months. A RecWell membership or facility rental is required for access to the Outdoor Aquatic Center. Follow @UMDRecWell on Twitter for immediate updates on pool closures and schedule changes. University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell) rules are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Due to limited availability, rentals for the OAC are limited. Parking on campus is regulated by UMD’s Department of Transportation Services. The OAC will open if the forecasted air temperature is 65 degrees or higher for the day, and will close at 5pm if the temperature drops below 65 degrees. In the event of thunder or lightning, pools will close for 30 minutes and reopen after the storm has passed. In the event of a tornado, patrons are encouraged to evacuate to the ERC basement for safety.
